XEOMIN® - PROVEN PERFORMANCE FOR UPPER FACIAL LINES

With nearly 15 years of clinical and global experience, only Xeomin® has been studied in 2 pivotal clinical trials simultaneously treating 3 key areas of the upper face: forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet.  The Primary Endpoint: Xeomin® met the primary endpoint of Treatment Success at Day 30.

What is Xeomin?

Xeomin injections contain botulinum toxin, a purified protein that is primarily used to treat moderate wrinkles and other lines. Like Botox, this simple injection temporarily paralyzes the muscles that cause deep lines. Xeomin injections give your skin a more youthful appearance by addressing the following cosmetic concerns:

  • Chin softening
  • Marionette lines
  • Eyebrow asymmetry
  • Brow elevation
  • Brow shaping
  • Softening facial scars

Though Xeomin isn’t permanent, it can be used as part of an ongoing treatment plan.

HOW DOES XEOMIN WORK?

When you squint or frown, the muscles between your eyebrows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines. Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in Xeomin – acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, Xeomin can temporarily reduce the lines between your eyebrows.

HOW LONG DOES XEOMIN LAST?

You may begin to see visible smoothing as early as 3-4 days after injection. The median first onset of effect was less than a week. The maximum effect occurred at 30 days. The typical duration of effect was up to 4 months in clinical trials but may last significantly longer or shorter in individual patients.

WHY GET XEOMIN?

Xeomin candidates include adults who want temporary relief from frown lines, crow’s feet, or other cosmetic concerns—especially those that cause lines, wrinkles, and sagging. This non-invasive procedure is an affordable way to temporarily treat (or prevent) signs of aging. Both Xeomin and Botox contain the same active ingredient, but Xeomin has been created without the additional proteins that can cause your body to eventually become “immune” to the treatment. During the process to create Xeomin, the extra protein (that remains in Botox) is removed creating a more purified product. As a result, your body may be less likely to have a negative response.

Because it is relatively new to the market, Xeomin is only FDA-approved for moderate to severe frown lines between your eyebrows and crow’s feet around your eyes—but your Xeomin provider may use injections to treat other locations on your face.

Before the Procedure
How do I prepare?

Your Xeomin specialist will answer questions you have and address your expectations. Additionally, they may review your overall health–including the following:

  • General health
  • Risk factors
  • Medical conditions
  • Drug allergies
  • Current medications
  • Herbal supplements

What are the treatment options?

Your Xeomin specialist will work with you to determine the best type of treatment to achieve your desired results. Xeomin therapy for your face only takes a few minutes and doesn’t require anesthesia. Like Botox, each Xeomin treatment reduces wrinkles and fine lines on your face.

Xeomin for forehead wrinkles

Forehead wrinkles develop when the frontalis muscle in your forehead repeatedly contracts—an action that occurs when you raise your eyebrows. Xeomin for forehead wrinkles relaxes this muscle, softening forehead wrinkles and preventing future wrinkle lines from developing. To treat forehead wrinkles temporarily, Xeomin is a non-surgical alternative to a facelift.

Xeomin for crow’s feet

Crow’s feet develop when the orbicularis oculi muscle in your eyelids repeatedly contracts—an action that occurs when you close your eyes. Xeomin for crow’s feet relaxes this muscle, softening wrinkles around your eyes and preventing future wrinkle lines from developing. To treat crow’s feet temporarily, Xeomin is a non-surgical alternative to a facelift.

Xeomin for frown lines

Frown lines develop when the muscles between your eyes repeatedly contract—an action that occurs when you frown. Xeomin for frown lines relaxes these muscles, softening lines between your eyes and preventing future lines from developing. To treat frown lines temporarily, Xeomin is a non-surgical alternative to a facelift.

After the Procedure

What can I expect?

For fine lines and shallow wrinkles, you’ll notice improvements within a week or two of your injections—sometimes even more quickly than with Botox. For harsher lines and deeper wrinkles, it may take over two weeks to see results.

Because Xeomin is a temporary solution for cosmetic concerns, you’ll need ongoing treatments to maintain your results. We recommend Xeomin every 3 months, especially during the first year of treatment.

What does recovery look like?

Xeomin injections are minimally invasive, so there is no downtime or recovery period. While there may be bruising and swelling, they should subside within 24 hours. Important: you should avoid lying down for the first several hours after your treatment.
